Letter N- Nursery Rhymes

This week we learned Nursery Rhymes and did different activities and made crafts that went along with the rhymes.  This is just a few of the things we did this week.  I couldn't capture EVERYTHING on camera.  Be sure to do rhyming with your child at home, because it is important for their literacy development.

NUMBERS.  We are learning numerals and one-to-one correspondence.

We poured and measured water to go along with the poem of "Jack and Jill".  The children we very engaged.  They enjoyed seeing how many smaller cups of water could fit in larger ones.

Counting spiders to go along with "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"

We practiced counting fish for our snack.  We placed four fish in the tank and then three fish in the cup.    Then we added the fish together to find that we had seven fish.

We painted pumpkins with shaving cream and food coloring.  It was  fun to paint with smooth, and puffy shaving cream paint.  We learned to mix red and yellow to make orange.  This went along with "Peter Piper Pumpkin Eater"

Letter A

We looked inside the star box to see glowing stars.  We discovered what the night sky looks like and we learned the word Constellation.  Have your child look for constellations in the night sky :)

Painting apple prints for our Alphabet books.

Patterns

We are learning patterns and we are also developing our finger skills.

Astronaut dress up play.  We pretended to fly to the moon!

Puppets!

 Playing Monkey in the Middle.

The Ants Go Marching!  We marched in groups of one, two, three and four kids!

Making Puppets!
The kids loved being creative with this art project!

Writing our letters!

We put together a puppet show. We are developing our language and literacy skills.  Miss Camille wrote a story on the board with the children's help and then we acted it out with our puppets.  This is a great activity to do at home also.
