Field Trip to Elite Studios Gymnastics

Our field trip to Elite Studios Gymnastics was so much fun!  We all worked so hard and developed a little more confidence in our abilities!

We loved going through the "jungle" that Keri created for us.  After we warmed up our muscles, we went through a cave, jumped onto lily pads, balanced on a beam, slithered like snakes, and jumped over a mountain.  Then we even got to pretend we were monkeys swinging around the  poles in the jungle.  We loved it all!

Letter F

We created some fun and beautiful feather designs.

We love to build with blocks and see what we can create.

Show and tell is one of our favorite weekly activities.  Writing our letters and drawing pictures are also fun and a great way for us to prepare for kindergarten.

We played fishing and camping and we took turns catching fish.  After we caught a fish, we said the letter that was on the back of it.

Letter R- ribbons and robots

The week before did Letter Q. We made quarter rubbings for our art book and we made Queen and King crowns and acted out the story of the Queen of Hearts.  This was the only photo I happened to capture.
Using our fine motor skills, we cut ribbons and glued them onto paper.  We were able to get pretty creative and make some neat ribbon designs for our alphabet art books.

Presenting the Star of the Week posters has been enjoyable!   I will try to get a picture of each child with their poster.  At the end of March, after all the preschoolers have presented their posters, we will hang them all up on the wall together so we can look at them one last time before the posters are sent home.

Letter L- lids, letters, library, and licorice

For the letter L, we made a giant L with the mats and then we walked up and down it, and said the L sound.

We made some beautiful licorice ladies and licorice people.

We read some cute books together. "Beatrice Doesn't Want To" is about a little girl who doesn't want to go to the library and then she discovers how much fun story time and books can be.  We enjoyed our field trip to the library.  Where we toured the building and had a nice story. After the story, we got to build with blocks in the community room.

We also read the classic, "Little Red Riding Hood" and we acted it out.

We played with lights and did some light puppet shows.
We learned how light makes shadows.

 We played with locks.

We dug through letters and sorted them by color and by letter.  We also laced them together.

 We made patterns with links.

We matched upper and lower case letters.

We started our Star of the Week presentations!  We are enjoying learning about all our friends and the neat things they like to do with their families!
